Sneakers & Speakers Celebrates 5th Year Anniversary with Honors

[Nashville, TN—May 17] The public is invited to celebrate the 5th year anniversary of Sneakers & Speakers (SXS). Presented by Studio 615, SXS Round V will be held on Saturday, June 4.

An idea birthed over “saki and sushi”, is now recognized as one of the leading sneaker conferences in Middle Tennessee. SXS is an exhibition styled event that attracts collectors from the music city to Atlanta, and other major cities throughout the southeast. Since 2011, over 5k pairs of sneakers have been showcased, traded, or either sold at SXS.

“We knew from the beginning that Sneakers and Speakers would be something special for the artistic community here in the music city,” Ivan Andrews (Founder of SXS) expressed.

SXS Round V will kick off with a pre mixer on June 3 at Bullets & Mullets. The main event will be held from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Studio 615. The 4000 square feet venue will accommodate more than 500 sneaker collectors, streetwear vendors, guests, and spectators.  Johnathan Jones, Director of Operations at Studio 615, said they’re excited to host Round V. “It isn’t every day that you get to this much amazing footwear and hear from amazing influential leaders,” he added.

Playing a major role in the Nashville Hip Hop scene, SXS will feature live performances from: Gee Slab, The Black Son, Michael Divinci, Wilx, Tylan, and Eddy Niz. Throughout the event, The Move Deejays, DJ GB, and DJ Tom Izzo will each lead a DJ set.  This year, Andrews and his team, will also honor John Gotty, of the SmokingSection, for his continuous support to SXS and the culture.

“It’s always a good feeling to be recognized for your contributions to anything you’re passionate about but it’s especially dope to be honored by SXS because I’ve watched the event grow from an idea, grow and develop into the event that it is today,” said Gotty. “Nashville’s sneaker community has been growing right alongside it the whole way, too, and I can’t be more proud for where we all stand today.”

Shortly following the event, guest 21+, are invited to stay for “The Move”, official after party.  Studio 615 is located at 272 Broadmoor Drive in Nashville. Ticket prices range from $10-$30; advanced tickets may be purchased online at sneakerxpeakers.com.

SXS Round V is sponsored by #MoreOriginalContent, The Sole Firm, Concrete Magazine, and more.  For a complete list of sponsors/ media partners visit sneakersxspeakers.com, or email info@sneakersxspeakers.

About Sneakers & Speakers

Sneakers and Speakers was formed to create a strong platform for the growing sneaker culture of Nashville, Tennessee. With the fusion of music added to the fashionable forte of sneaker collecting; DJs, music ciphers and performances were mixed with original artwork, dance and likeminded individuals with similar goals and interests.
