The public is invited to tour the practice and meet with Dr. Mitchell and Associates. There will also be a live dental photography exhibit; Refreshments will be served.

The Sweetgrass Launch Party will be held for two special occasions. In addition to the grand opening SweetGrass Dental Associates, there will be an exclusive launch of the “Blood Moon” collection from the SweetGrass Clothing Company. “The launch of SweetGrass Clothing Company and SweetGrass Dental Associates encompass more than a decade’sworth of hard work by us as brothers, Dr. Mitchell shared. “With that in mind, we decided that celebrating both launches together would be the best way to honor the community that has supported our dreams since day one.”

Following the two-day celebration, SweetGrass Dental Associates will become the tri-county’s newest practice to offer modern dental care for patients of all ages. SweetGrass Dental Associates will offer a wide array of services from general/preventative care to full mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Mitchell goes further to describes the practice as “tech heavy” with the latest technology in dentistry. “We created SweetGrass Dental in order to introduce the latest in dental technology to the underserved communities [here in] Charleston. Using full mouth scanning, 3-D cone beam technology, and 3-D printing we will be able to offer everything… from Invisalign to gold crowns.” The 2700 square-foot practice will also feature both an in-house lab, photography studio, noise canceling headphones, and lobby chairs with charging ports.

“SweetGrass Dental Associates was designed by millennials in order to better serve all ages,” he added.

SweetGrass Clothing Company was started in 2018 by 6 blood brothers known as the “Mitchell Men.” SweetGrass Clothing was created in response to multiple incidents in downtown Charleston, SC during the Summer of 2018 involving young SweetGrass artisans. The craft that is SweetGrass basket weaving is a staple to the Gullah/Geechee people of the low country, as well as many communities along the southeastern coast of the United States. SweetGrass Clothing Company is the reclamation of the Gullah/Geechee culture by it’s true Heirs. The symbolism used in the SweetGrass collections speak to the history of the Gullah/Geechee people as a means of revitalizing our culture.
