[Columbia, SC—October 12, 2016] Avahscloset will host its 3rd Annual runway show on Saturday, November 12 at 7 p.m. Inspired by Tulle + Couture, fashion designer Adai Quaye, will unveil her Fall and Spring Ankara Collections at the Edventure’s Children Museum.
“For the fall and spring collection, I created looks that would escape the ordinary,” said Adai Quaye, Founder/Designer of Avahcloset. “I was inspired to combined tulle with traditional Ankara fabrics.”
Commonly referred to as African fabric (or Kente cloth), Ankara is more than vibrant colors, tribal-like patterns, and motifs—it’s a significant part of Quaye’s heritage. She was born and raised in Ghana, but spent her time as an inspiring fashion designer in Columbia, SC.
During her spare time, Quaye enjoys reading, volunteering, and being an active member of the Midlands. Since 2012, she has helped raise scholarship funds for tailors and their families in Accra, Ghana. Avahscloset is also a proud partner of The Mother Bliss, international charity, that provides clothing, toiletries, food and school supplies for low income children in the rural parts of Ghana; proceeds from Tulle + Couture will be donated in support of their mission.
“Avahscloset isn’t just a fashion brand. It’s an initiative to give back to the both the community and economy,” Quaye added.
Tulle + Couture will touch the fashion senses of modern women, trendsetters, men, and children. Avahscloset will also share the runway with Charise Rodriguez, and Kojo Danquah-Duah, Master of Ceremony and owner of Kojo Kreations. The night will also consist of live entertainment by Othello’s Delight, a raffle, and networking for entrepreneurs.
Tickets for Tulle + Couture are $25 in advance for V.I.P; $15 for General Admission. On the day of runway show admission, prices will increase by $5. Each guest will also receive an “Avah’s & More” Gift Bag with ticket purchase. Every year, Quaye places a special item from Ghana in the bag as a token of her appreciation.
