[Charleston, SC-August 15, 2023] Local Charleston recording artist Tommy Brown Jr. is proud to announce Love and Happiness: A Tribute to Al Green and other Soul Legends on Friday, September 1 at the Charleston Pour House.
Known for his diverse musical style, Thomas “Tommy” Brown Jr, is a soulful singer who has performed all over the lowcountry. In celebration of the Charleston Pourhouse’s 21st anniversary, he will hit their main stage to pay tribute to the music of the 11-time Grammy award-winning artist and 1995 Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.
“Al Green laid the musical and life blueprint for generations of musical artists like myself that strive to exude soul, passion, and spirituality in the craft,” Brown expressed. “It’s only right that we pay tribute to him in one of the nation’s most historical musical cities.”
To make the night unforgettable, Brown will be accompanied by some of the city’s top singers and musicians. Together they will also share a timeless performance of other musical legends that have impacted and inspired his love for soul music. “I’ve been yearning for another creative revival,” he added. “So, anything can happen at this show!”
Love and Happiness will begin at 9 pm. Doors to Charleston Pourhouse Mainstage (1977 Maybank Highway Charleston, SC) will open at 8 pm. This show is open to the general public.
